Outdoors:

Fauna and Flora:

The Nature’s Valley township is part of the habitat of the wild animals in the Tsitsikamma National Park.garden route bed and breakfast

The shy bushbuck and occasional kudu comes down from the mountain to graze in the gardens and the bush pig family passes through at night time.

You might come across the otters or duiker on the dunes or near the lagoon.

Monkeys and baboons are often around and birdlife abounds.

The African Finfoot has been spotted near the bridge at the camping site. Black oyster catchers frequent the rocks along the beach.

Whales visit the bay annually during the latter half of the year - often with their new offspring - and dolphins frequently pass up and down the shore hunting and playing.

Weather:

Depending on the weather systems over the sea and interior, temperatures can vary from cool to mild and hot on the same day, while it can become quite cold during night time, even during ”warm” seasons.

Showers with thunder and lightning sometimes occur, but when misty rainy weather sets in, there is no limit to the romantic possibilities if you do not want to curl up and lose yourself in a book.

Generally the weather is very different from that on the Natal coast, which is almost always hot and very humid.

Fynbos, proteas and restios grow on the shoulders of the roads and a fynbos reserve as well as the Phyl Martin memorial garden can be visited in the Valley. Different species flower in different seasons. The ericacae and proteacae were especially beautiful this year.
